Our first, TEXAS sized giveaway is here…

Howdy fans…we are thrilled to be hosting our FIRST giveaway! Yeehaw! We have had the pleasure of being included in a giveaway with the amazing The Tom Kat Studio, and Butterfly Baby Place…This time, we are in charge! We decided we wanted to host a giveaway that featured ALL TEXAS designers. Most of these vendors are stay at home mommies who run their businesses from home all the while balancing life as mommy extraordinaire~ Our goal with this giveaway is to introduce you to these artists whether they make hair clips, plan parties, or have their own line of stationary. Meet Our Photograher {Dorean Pope}…

When brainstorming about our model search, we wanted a photographer that was creative, gifted with children, would roll with the punches {and our quirky ideas}, and knew how to work in natural light. Selecting our dear friend, Dorean Pope, with Dorean Pope Photography is a perfect match that we are confident will fit all our needs! She has captured many special moments on film in both of our families, including maternity, newborn, first birthday, holiday, and family portrait sessions. We are honored to have such an amazing photographer teaming with us on this project! Thank you Dore!

A little bit about Dore~

“Hi there! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Dorean Pope. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful little girls – a 2 & 1/2 year old and a 14 month old (as of 7/10). I am a full time, stay at home mom and part time photographer. My husband is a Home Inspector who is also self employed and works from home. We feel very blessed to be able to run our businesses and care for our children from our home at the same time. I grew up in Austin, Texas. I feel very fortunate to live here – I love this town!! Growing up, I never felt like I had an artistic bone in my body. My father is an artist and my brothers and sisters can draw and paint with ease. I never had this ability and would always joke that the artistic gene skipped me. That was until I bought a SLR camera for my husband. Unfortunately for him, and fortunately for me I LOVED taking pictures with it. Because of that camera, I found a new passion and an artistic outlet.Becoming a photographer was a slow process for me. I took classes while working full time (before I had any kiddos). I started in the wedding industry and realized shortly that my true passion was portrait photography. Child photography is something that I excel at because of my knack for working with kids, plus it is a lot of fun!”

Oh Fiddlesticks! Model Search…

Calling all ROCKSTARS, BOOKWORMS, COWBOYS, and COWGIRLS…

We are looking for models ages 1 through 7 to model our hip, handmade tees for marketing and promotional materials…If you think your lil’ guy or gal has the spunk, sass, and ‘look’ to be a fashion model then we would LOVE for you to enter them in our contest.

The rules:

Beginning Monday, September 20th we want you to send us your Oh Fiddlesticks! Model Search photo. The winners of this contest will be including in one photo shoot in Austin, Texas on Thursday October 7th 2010. The photos from this session will be used for Oh Fiddlesticks! marketing and promotional materials.

To Enter:

~ONE entry per child

~YOU must be the parent or legal guardian of the child you enter into the contest

~ANY child, age ONE to SEVEN may be entered in the model search

~YOU must have permission/rights to use the photo you enter

~ YOU may NOT use a ‘professional photo’

~Photo must have been taken in the last 6 months

~Photos will be accepted from 12:01 am Monday, September 20th, 2010 until 11:59 pm Friday, September 24th, 2010

~The photos need to be submitted via email to Oh Fiddlesticks! at: ohfiddlesticksaustin@gmail.com

~Only photos emailed to: ohfiddlesticksaustin@gmail.com during the week of Sept.20th-24th will be entered in the model search

~With your photo, please include your child’s name and age {their first name and age will be posted with the photo on our facebook fan page} as well as your name and contact information so we can contact you if your child is one of the three finalists in the model search

Judging:

~All photo entries will be uploaded to an album titled: Oh Fiddlesticks! Model Search 2010 on our facebook fan page on Saturday, September 25th, 2010

~To vote for a photo you MUST ‘Like’ Oh Fiddlesticks! facebook fan page, then you need to click ‘like’ for the photo you want to vote for in the album Oh Fiddlesticks! Model Search 2010. You can vote for as many photos as you wish.

~On Wednesday, September 29th at 11:59 pm the voting will close. We will verify that all the ‘likes’ for the THREE winning photos come from fans of Oh Fiddlesticks! and are NOT from non-fans. Likes from non-fans will NOT count!

~The THREE photos with the most ‘likes’ will be the finalists in the Oh Fiddlesticks! Model Search 2010.

~The THREE finalists will be announced on Thursday, September 30th 2010

~All participants are encouraged to get all their ‘peeps’ involved!!!

The Shoot:

~The THREE finalists will win a photo shoot with a professional photographer, and The Oh Fiddlesticks! Team in Austin, Texas. The photo shoot will take place on Thursday, October 7th near downtown Austin. Accomodations to and from Austin, Texas must be provided by the finalists. If you are unable to be present on the date and time of the photo shoot, the finalist will be disqualified and another finalist will be asked to take their place. Oh Fiddlesticks! will be providing the clothing, props, location and professional photographer for the photo shoot.
